Throughout the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) which has been in place since March 18, 2020, Shangri-La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa has been diligently serving lunch and dinner meals daily to police and armed forces personnel manning the roadblock along the Batu Feringgi Road in Penang.

Their dedicated culinary team needs to be commended as they made a pledge to continue serving more than 20 personnel daily.

To make the menu more appetising, the kitchen team prepares different sets of meals for lunch and dinner.

In addition to serving meals, the resort allows the officers to access the resort’s restrooms, shower rooms and surau.

During this difficult time to contain the spread of Covid-19, the resort has also extended support by installing piped water on site and provided electricity supply.

With the coming month of Ramadan, the resort is committed to preparing the breaking of fast (Buka Puasa) meals to armed forces personnel stationed at the roadblock until the end of the declared MCO period.

Although the resort is closed to staying guests, they are still operating on a limited capacity with a focus on takeaway food and beverage orders.

“The least we can do now is to provide some measure of comfort, proper meals and amenities for the hardworking officers. Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa has always played its part as a responsible corporate citizen by supporting the police and armed forces at the frontline on a daily basis.

“We believe that having a decent environment, nutritious meal and refreshing drinks build high level of morale among the dedicated personnel and encourage them to look forward to going a long way during the period of their duty.” said general manager Elaine Yue in a press statement.
