The Tzu Chi Jing Si maxim says it all – “If everyone contributes their love, a crisis can be turned into an opportunity and a disaster into a blessing”.
The saying is more true now when we are going through the current CoVID-19 pandemic worldwide.
Recently, the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia with the collaboration of South Island Garment Sdn Bhd (SIG) contributed much needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to the General Hospitals in Penang and Seberang Jaya.
The handing over ceremony of isolation gowns was held at the Penang General Hospital recently.
“Today marks the first of our hand over of 1,000 PPEs to the GH, subsequently we will be delivering 1,000 PPEs more weekly for the next 4 weeks, making a total of 5,000 PPEs,” Khoo Boo Leong, commissioner of Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia.
For their continuous support and assistance to the public and general hospitals,
Tzu Chi should be applauded for its significant achievements for being a well-organized charity with an international network of volunteers in reaching out to poor and needy regardless of race, religion and geographical boundary.
“Through close engagements with Buddhist Tzu Chi Merits Society Malaysia, we are indeed honoured to have the opportunity to contribute directly to Penang and Seberang Prai General Hospital in a small way as part of our corporate social responsibility initiatives,” said Tan Poay Seng Group Managing director of SIG.
