Sepang Aircraft Engineering (SAE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus, has signed a contract with Cebu Pacific of the Philippines, covering 12-year aircraft maintenance and end-of-lease (EOL) checks on seven A320 aircraft.

The announcement was made during the MRO Asia-Pacific event in Singapore, and the work will be undertaken at SAE’s facility at Kuala Lumpur International Airport between 2027 and 2028.

The latest agreement builds on the relationship between SAE and Cebu Pacific, which has seen  SAE previously conduct heavy maintenance and ad hoc EOL checks, aircraft engine changes, and skin panel replacement work for the airline.

In addition, SAE has on occasion supported Cebu Pacific’s maintenance needs, by deploying a team of engineers to perform on-site work on the carrier’s fleet in Manila.

SAE specialises in the MRO of commercial aircraft, engines and components. It has two hangars with a combined area of some 50,000 square metres located within the grounds of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and is able to accommodate up to eight aircraft at any one time for major maintenance checks.
