Incumbent MAH Kedah/Perlis Chapter chairman Eugene Dass was re-elected to serve the office for the 2022-2025 term at their annual general meeting (AGM) held at the Tanjung Rhu Resort Langkawi recently.

Dass is also the general manager of the StarCity Hotel Alor Star.

He will be assisted by vice chairman Razmi Rahmat (General manager Adya Hotel Langkawi)

The Hon Secretary is Reginald T Pereira (CEO Tanjung Rhu Resort Langkawi) with Treasurer Hafez Mohd Hashim ( General Manager Rebak Island Resort & Marina).

The committee members comprise of Clement Paul (GM Pelangi  Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi), Johan Eusoffe Abdullah (GM The Datai Langkawi), Leslie Pereira (GM Holiday Villa Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi), Karen Simgh Khurana( GM The Danna) and Effendi Mohd Ramley (GM Dash Resort Langkawi).

Meanwhile, the Internal auditor is Ahmad Fauzi Romli (Casa Del Mar Langkawi)

In a quick interview, Dass touched on three main areas where he will focus moving forward.

“We will be focusing on three areas carrying the chapter forward. Among them are the issue of manpower for hotels as we are having a tough time recruiting employees for various positions.

“Next is the business support for members with the opening of borders and finally we want to work closely with MAH National in ensuring hotels are getting support from local and federal government.

Syabas Eugene Dass on his re-appointment and we are indeed confident that he will bring MAH Kedah/Perlis Chapter to greater heights.
