Gurney Plaza ushers CNY with magical celestial garden setting

A lush celestial and magical garden setting awaits shoppers at Penang’ s popular shopping mall – the Gurney Plaza.
Dubbed the “Splendour of Spring At Gurney Plaza”, the main atrium is decked with celestial garden, tall bamboo trees and moving flowers befitting the occasion.
Present at the recent launching gambit was the Penang State Assemblyman for Pulau Tikus, Chris Lee along with Ms Selina Ng (Retail Head), Peter Chan, deputy general manager of Gurney Plaza and media members.
“After two years of lockdown and MCO, we can now celebrate the Lunar New Year with family and friends. We have come a long way from the time of our ancestors and made much progress.
“We should not take the freedom we have now for granted. Enjoy the Spring Festival with family and friends,” said Lee in wishing everyone a happy Lunar New Year.

Meanwhile, at the amazing setting, guests can wander to the middle of the ornate garden to view the 28ft giant lantern pieced together with beautifully designed round embroidery used as a backdrop and perfect for shoppers to take pictures from all angles.
There are also a flight of dragonflies that seem to linger around the compound signifying the “New Beginnings”.
As a run-up towards the festivities, Gurney Plaza has lined up several interesting programmes for shoppers and visitors to partake in.
Among them are the Spring Garden Chinese New Year Festive Fair, A Bubbly Spring Garden, God of Prosperity Mascot Walkabout, Double LED Dance Performance and 24 Seasons Drum Performance.
There are also shop and win contests offering attractive prizes lke the Nespresso Essenza Mini, TSL Gold Packet and STAR vouchers. Other highlights include the flower cotton candy redemption, exclusive Splendour of Spring red packets redemption, Tomei Tiger Gold packet redemption, L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Trio gift set redemption and the Love shaped cotton Candy redemption.
