The Legendary ‘Banana Bread’
From the very first year of Feringgi Grill’s operations in late 1973, the first thing that greeted diners at their table was the in-house specialty of freshly baked Banana bread, instead of a basket full of bread and rolls that most diners elsewhere would usually get.
The Banana bread, hot from the ovens of the posh Feringgi Grill, soon became the restaurant’s unique way of impressing diners and so the iconic deliciously Banana bread fast became a much sought-after crowd favourite.
During its heyday, this old-favourite came near to cult status, becoming a legend in the halls of fine dining with its taste and unique freshness as it gained popularity amongst fine diners and regulars, celebrities, royalty and heads of states.
The homemade Banana bread maintained its star feature role, outshining other oven-fresh breads and rolls for over a decade, right up until the 1980s when nouvelle cuisine was introduced and the banana bread was replaced from its top spot at the Feringgi Grill.
But out of sight does not mean out of mind, as now due to growing demand and constant requests, the much-sought-after Banana bread is set to making a golden comeback with its good old-fashioned 70s recipe still intact.
“The recipe is so truly original with its all natural ingredients, that no other baked recipes taste as delicious. The softness, mellow flavour and wonderful aroma of ripened bananas, baked and softened to perfection has natural starches and sugars turned to a jammy sweetness and translates perfectly into the flavourful and legendary Banana Bread,” said Executive Chef Lim Soon Leong.
The delectable Banana Bread is back and once again a star feature available only at Rasa Deli for takeaways at RM11 per loaf, which can be sliced into 12 slices of pure satisfaction. Order now to enjoy! If you like to have a piece and a taste of the Banana bread, drop by at the ‘Shang Shack’ on every Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
