The iconic roundabout in Ipoh near the old Menteri Besar’s residence has been given a new lease of life with a RM400,000 facelift recently.

The upgrade included major landscaping works, paint job, placing a globe feature on top of the fountain, installing latest piping systems and a new pump technology.
The fountain was built in 1663 and connects Jalan Sultan Idris Shah, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Raja Dihilir and Jalan Raja Nazrin Shah.
On hand to launch the official unveiling ceremony was Ipoh mayor Dato Rumaizi Baharin and state exco for Housing, Local Government, Transportation and Tourism Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi.

Funding for the project was made by the WEIL Hotel which donated RM200,000 and another RM200,000 coming from the Prime Ministers department.
Also present was Datuk Liew Sew Yee representing the WEIL Hotel.
