“I can confidently say that my tandoori and mutton ribs are among the best in Penang or even in the whole of Malaysia.
“When I got into this business, I had no clue or knowledge of the food and beverage industry but was only armed passion and determination.
“One thing is we do not compromise on the quality of our food as we want our guests to be happy with our dishes and also come back,” said Mohan to Where2lifestyle.
He also added that before the MCO , they often get reseation from guests from the USA, UK, Australia and many more.
During the MCO, Kashmir Restaurant also did their bid to help the poor and needy by giving out free food for those in need.
He admitted that the lockdown during the MCO were the worst times he had seen during the years in business.
“Nevertheless, we have had famous Hollywood actors like Omar Sharif, local celebrity chef Wan, Ministers and also the chief minister of Penang coming to our outlet.
“I have a team of 12 staff at my Penang Road outlet and another five staff at the Love Lane outlet. The capacity downstairs is 80 pax while upstairs, can cater for 40 pax at our Penang Road outlet.
“My son, Shamir takes care of the Love Lane outlet,” added Mohan.
Kashmir Restaurant has also been recognised on the Lonely Planet and also in numerous newspapers and magazines.
Their operating hours are from 11am to 11pm daily.
