The Penang Bay International Ideas Competition was launched recently to invite participants to send entries to rehabilitate, regenerate and rejuvenate the water based assets of Georgetown and Butterworth.

Local and global innovators are invited to generate inspiring ideas and concepts that will help reimagine the way people of Penang can leverage their water based assets in order to drive prosperity and build a resilient city state over the next 20 years.
Present at the launching ceremony was Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow along with state exco for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning, Jagdeep Singh.
Other present were the managing director of Think City, Hamdan Abdul Majeed, Seberang Prai mayor Dato Rozali Mohamud and other VIP guests.

“The Penang Bay International Ideas Competition is a gateway to untapped potential, to create a New Economic Zone in Penang, in line with the Penang2030 vision and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,” said Chow in his address.
Entries are open till now till Oct 19, 2020.
Eventual winners stand to win the top prize of US20,000, followed by US8,000 and US4,000 respectively.
Five consolation winners will also receive US1,000 each.
