Gotong Royong project by Bahang Bay Hotel

Being a caring corporate citizen, the newly opened Bahang Bay Hotel carried out a “gotong royong” beach cleaning project over the weekend.
Lending support to the effort was representatives of the local folk, hotel staff and volunteers supported by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP).
The group armed with brooms and plastic bags started to collect the rubbish such as empty plastic bottles, food containers and other waste materials found along the beach.

Also lending support were children from the area who wanted to spend their Sunday on a good deed.
By the end of the day they had collected quite a large amount of rubbish that littered the area.
“We hope to carry out this project from time to time so that the surrounding area and the beach is kept presentable to visitors,” said a spokesperson for the hotel.
Kudos to the Bahang Bay Hotel and the Teluk Bahang folks for their commendable effort.
