Incumbent Nigel Wong has been re-elected as President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) following the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur recently.
The newly elected Executive Committee will serve a three-year term from 2026 to 2029, continuing MATTA’s role as the country’s leading voice for the travel and tourism industry during a period of growth and transformation.
Supporting Wong in the new leadership line-up are Mohd Hizzat Mohd Shah, who assumes the role of Deputy President, and Rocky Kho Kwang Peow, who has been elected Honorary Treasurer.
The newly elected office bearers also include Chong Yu Ken, Dr Fazil Khan Abdul Kadir, Subramaniam Kandasamy, Shazli Affuat Ghazali, Gopalan Mariappan, Adam Kamal Ahmad Kamil, and Muhd Jafni Mustapha, who will work alongside the leadership team in advancing MATTA’s objectives and strengthening Malaysia’s tourism and travel sector.
Wong’s re-election reflects the confidence and trust placed in his leadership by MATTA members. During his new term, the association is expected to continue championing industry interests, promoting sustainable tourism growth, enhancing member engagement, and supporting Malaysia’s position as a premier travel destination.
