For the children and families supported by Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia), the 32nd Charity Golf Championship was more than a day on the green; it was a lifeline.
Held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, the event brought together 118 golfers and 45 sponsors, raising RM604,000 in gross collections and achieving a nett total of RM430,000. These funds will directly fuel RMHC Malaysia’s mission to improve the health, education, and welfare of underprivileged children nationwide.
Funds raised will go towards RMHC Malaysia’s four flagship programmes:
- Ronald McDonald House – providing a home-away-from-home for families with hospitalised children. The four Ronald McDonald Houses in the country which are located near hospitals allow families to save on accommodation costs and remain close to their children during critical treatment periods.
- Ronald McDonald Sensory Room – offering therapeutic spaces for children with developmental needs. Children with developmental needs are accessing these therapeutic spaces nationwide. Children with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders can now develop essential skills in a safe, supportive environment.
- Gift of Smile – funding cleft lip and palate surgeries for children in need. For the beneficiaries, this programme restores not only smiles but also confidence, speech ability, and social inclusion.
- Back-to-School Pack Programme – equipping underprivileged children with essential school supplies such as uniforms and shoes. This programme significantly reduces the financial burden on families and encourages school attendance and participation.
In addition to supporting these programmes, RMHC Malaysia also presented Medical Grants totalling RM300,000 to six welfare organisations across the country. The recipients are:
- IJN Foundation
- Persatuan Kebajikan Pesakit Kanak-Kanak Hospital USM (PEKA)
- Tabung Kebajikan Pesakit HPKK UKM
- Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia Hospital Tunku Azizah
- PPUMCare
- Tabung Kebajikan Perubatan Malaysia HWKKS
