The Datai Langkawi showcases fine food with champagne, cognac and cigar

The premier Datai Langkawi hosted a quadruple wine, champagne, cognac and cigar tasting gathering where sme 40 select group of guests gathered.

The event was hosted by S H Maju Sdn Bhd led by their managing director,  Alfred Low along with Sebastian Papin (Director Asia/Pacific) from Champagne Billecart-Salmon and Matthieu Chapoutier (Director APAC & Middle East) from Tesseron cognac.

Some of the other guests were Neoh Kean Boon, general manager Pelangi Resort Langkawi, Jaimy Alexander Van Den Berg, Resort Manager Pelangi Resort Langkawi, Ganesan Narayan Complex Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Mohzani Mokhtar, Four Seasons Resort Director of Food & Beverage, Robert Khor (director of operations S H Maju) among others.

After a short mingling session at the poolside, guests were invited to The Dining Room at the resort by the director of Food and Beverage, Indra Mohan and his team.

A fine line-up of starters made up of Kaluga Amur Caviar,Kyuri, Kyuri, Horseradish Cream, Smoked eel,Irish Oyster, awaited.

This was followed by the Raspberry Charcoal Croll with fine Yeasted Butter followed.

Then came the awesome Sweet Mud Crab, Oscietra Caviar, Cucumber Veil Rasil Lemon Sorbet accompanied with Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve.

Guests also had the opportunity to sample the brilliance of Billecart-Salmon Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru, Billecart-Salmon Vintage 2013, Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose.

Guests later adjourned to the Lobby Lounge to sample the fine cognac range of Tesseron  Cognac Lot No 90 XO Ovation, Tesseron Lot No76 Tradition and Tesseron Lot No 53 XO Perfection along with a cigar selection range.

Surely it was a fine evening for aficionados of good food, champagne and cognac.
