Santan, the food and beverage (F&B) brand under Capital A, has unveiled a new line-up of delicious, nostalgia-inspired menu items, celebrating the beloved
flavours Malaysians grew up with — just in time for Merdeka month.

Santan’s latest creations include the Kaya Butter Coconut Toast, a first-of-its-kind inflight offering; the iconic Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Light (Nasi lemak Bungkus); and the ZERO Teh Tarik Kaw Kaw — a game-changer in healthier indulgence, delivering the full-bodied kaw taste with 70% less sugar. In addition, Santan is proud to introduce a new drink featuring Asam Boi – a beloved preserved plum ingredient popular across Malaysia and the Asean region.

To complete the experience, passengers who purchase a Santan Combo meal can add on the ‘Snek Box Kita’ for just RM3 – a delightful trio of beloved local snacks: Toasted Coconut Biscuit, Muruku, and Pineapple Tart. It’s another uniquely Malaysian touch, bringing the flavours of our childhood into the skies.

Catherine Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Santan said, “In conjunction with the upcoming Bulan Kemerdekaan, this new range pays tribute to the nostalgic flavours that represent who we are as a country — rich in culture, heritage, and diversity. From the world’s first Kaya Butter Coconut Toast in the skies to our Teh Tarik Kaw Kaw, we’re proud to celebrate Malaysia through food that is flavourful, healthier, and unmistakably ours.”

“We see strong potential in the snack segment, and with this launch, we’re targeting up to 10% contribution to our overall sales this year. As a brand that has grown from inflight meals to ground retail, this marks another exciting step in making Malaysian favourites part of everyday moments — both in the air and on the ground,” she added.

Santan’s Club ZERO range was developed to meet the growing demand for reduced-sugar options without compromising on flavour. By using safe, approved zero-calorie sugar substitutes with no aspartame, Santan continues to offer healthier choices that are both satisfying and enjoyable.

Launched last year and officiated by the Minister of Health, Club ZERO features popular beverages such as the ZERO Pistachio Coconut Latte, and has recently expanded to include santan’s viral dessert — ‘The OG Burnt Cheesecake’, a lower-sugar version of Santan’s signature cheesecake with 50% less sugar.

Value remains at the core of the offering – combo meals are priced from as low as RM7.90, inclusive of a drink. Passengers may also upgrade their drink by topping up RM2 to enjoy the ZERO Pistachio Coconut Latte – a viral favourite since last year – or the signature Santan Latte, which has sold over one million cups since its introduction.

These new items are part of Santan’s regular quarterly menu refresh, which takes place every three months to keep offerings fresh, exciting and in tune with guest preferences. The latest range is now available on all AirAsia and AirAsia X flights, with continuation guided by guest feedback and demand.
