Thanks to the Government of Quangang District, Fujian Province in China, the Penang General Hospital received medical masks and personal protective equipment inclusive clothing and shoes.
The medical aids consisted of 6,400 masks, 100 sets of personal protective clothing and 100 sets of shoe covers.
The humanitarian aid will go a long way against the fight on the COVID-19 pandemic.
Penang State Exco for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Heritage Yeoh Soon Hin said that his office has been working closely with Lau Keng Ee, the Special Officer to the Penang Chief Minister, in the effort to enlist medical aids for hospital personnel from Fujian Province, China.
“The medical aid will be handed over to Penang General Hospital soon to equip them better in the fight against Covid-19.
“We are grateful to the Government of Quangang District, Fujian Province for their immediate assistance.
“We are working together to overcome the epidemic and at the same time, strengthen the friendship between the Government of Quangang District, Fujian Province and Penang,” said Yeoh.
