Vivo topped fourth quarter 2020 shipments in Asian smartphone market with a total market share of 15 percent, according to Counterpoint.

The ranking came in part thanks to strong performance in markets like Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, where vivo led all smartphone manufacturers in shipments during the quarter.

In addition to its strong performance in Asia, vivo posted impressive numbers in the global markets.

The company ranked fifth in global smartphone shipments in 2020, earning a market share of 8.6 percent[3]. Since its first step into international markets in 2014, vivo has rooted in the Asian market and accelerated its globalization across the world.

In December 2020, vivo officially announced global imaging strategic cooperation with ZEISS, a global leader in optics and opto-electronics and a pioneer in the field of professional and mobile. Both vivo and ZEISS will establish the vivo ZEISS Imaging Lab, a joint R&D program to innovate mobile imaging technology for vivo’s flagship smartphones.

vivo’s continuous effort in developing industry-leading technology has led to its success in the global market. Malaysia will be the first Southeast Asia country to launch the latest vivo X60 Series via a virtual launch on March 22 at 9:30pm.
