With all sectors of the community going through some difficult times, it was refreshing to see some corporate citizens doing their bid to help out the needy and the underprivileged.
This time around, the Eastern & Oriental Berhad working committee continued their annual special home assistance project despite the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Abiding by the new SOPs, they arranged delivery for daily necessities to the homes in Mount Erskine through online purchases, unlike previous years where they could spend time with the residents at their premises.
Penang Ru Yi Home administrator Ong Lay Keow and Society of Disabled Persons Penang president Datuk Teh Lay Kuan received the items on behalf of 52 residents.
Among the items were cooking oil, detergent, mosquito repellent, dish washer, rice and canned food to name a few.
