Amari SPICE Penang celebrates six of its team members acquiring the CHM certification

The Amari SPICE Penang celebrated the successful acquisition of the Certified Hospitality Manager of American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute for six of its management staff members recently. 

The CHM programme is brought by Aariana Hospitality International.

Among the successful Amari SPICE Penang team were Ms Khaw Minh Minh, Director, Human Resources C. Ravindran, Director of Finance, Teh Hock Aun, Director, Engineering, Ms Christine Rock, Executive Assistant Manager, Sheikh Abdul Rahman, Assistant Front Manager and lastly Ms Doris Hor, Director, Commercial.

The hotel’s general manager Noorzzudin Omar expressed his delight in seeing all of his team members completing the certification successfully.

“I am proud to share that within one and a half years, we have managed to groom nine CHM graduates for the hotel and overall hospitality industry. We already had three other management team members who had qualified earlier this year.

“With these nine qualified team members in our hotel, we are confident that we can elevate the service industry in Bayan Lepas”, added the elated Noorzzudin.

He also shared that they are the only convention hotel in Penang thus the significance of the qualified team.

“We are also going to receive another to add to our pool of awards for the “Best Event Hotel in Malaysia” by the Tourism Industry Award on July 26, 2024. I am proud to see the team do well in this programme as it will help them in their career path” he said.

Other successfully participants who achieved the accreditation were Mohammad Johan Bhoonee (Hotel Scott KL, Sentral), Lalitha Paskaran Cheettiar (OZO Hotel), Ryei Soh Chia Yee (Parkroyal Penang), Nur Latifah Zulkafly (Tanjung Rhu Resort Langkawi) and Zainal Abidin Md Nor (The Prestige Hotel).

The programme today saw a 100% pass rate conducted by hospitality industry veteran Dr Jimmy Chow. Also present was Aariana Hospitality International’s president/CEO, Reginald T Pereira.
