A cup of “cutting tea” at RM1 only ?
Yes, you read it right. You can enjoy this tea at the newly opened Chai Junction in Little India in Georgetown.
They are a modern Indian cafe serving piping hot tea/coffee along with snacks of various sorts.
Their hot beverages are served with fresh milk thus avoiding the use of condensed milk.
Outlet proprietor, Sachin Dev Sivakumar came up with the idea to mimic an authentic cafe as seen in Tamil movies.
“Our cafe is popular with both locals and even foreign tourists. They like the outdoor seating and the experience to enjoy their hot drinks and snacks.
“We are open from 11am to 11pm and business picks up towards the evening.
“Our deco on the walls showcase popular film stars and actresses. Guests also like to take selfies and videos to share with their friends too,” said Sachin.
Some of the tourists even compare the outlet to a French alfresco cafe but only this is set in the busy Little India area in Georgetown.
Among the other snacks available at the cafe are Nasi lemak, Vadai, imported biscuits, bun with butter and jam to name a few choices.
They also offer authentic Bru coffee and latte along with cool drinks like Madurai Jigarthanda, Limca, Maaza, Frooti, Thumbs Up and also fresh juices.
Another new product at their cafe is the chai tea cartons priced @RM10 each. Customers can enjoy ready-made tea for a serving of six pax and they offer free delivery around Georgetown. Check out Chai Junction when you are around the area.
