China’s first homemade C919 takes flight

China’s first domestically manufactured passenger aircraft, the C919 took to the skies recently.
The maiden flight from Shanghai to Beijing was a success.
The passenger jet arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport following its inaugural commercial flight.
Operated by China Eastern Airlines, the aircraft took off from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport with nearly 160 passengers on board.
The plane is the first C919 jetliner delivered worldwide.
The C919 is China’s first self-developed trunk jetliner in accordance with international airworthiness standards, and China owns its independent intellectual property rights.
The introduction of the new aircraft will surely raise eyebrows at Boeing Co and Airbus.
