Bukit Kukus – Malaysia’s Highest elevated highway is open

The Bukit Kukus paired road launched yesterday is the highest elevated paired road in Malaysia.

On hand at a launching ceremony was Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, State Exco for Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning, Jagdep Singh Deo, State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, Yeoh Soon Hin, Penang Island City Council Mayor Dato Yew Tung Seang among others.

The RM378.2 million portion of the Bukit Kukus paired road was completed by the Penang City Council and is expected to reduce traffic congestion by 30% in Penang.

The 5.5 km road will connect Paya Terubong to Relau.

The project is in line with Vision Penang 2030 and will continue to synergise and deliver all  infrastructure plans
