This is the new look of the new ferries to come which are of close resemblance to the iconic Penang ferry.

Come mid-2023, there will be new ferries to ply the route between Butterworth and Georgetown, Penang.

Four new ferries costing RM16 million each will take to service. 

Penang Port Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Saseedharan Vasudevan said that the waiting areas will also resemble those of airports.

“They will have air-conditioning, wifi, phone charging points, cater for the disabled, food and beverage outlets and more.

“The time taken to cross the channel will be only 10 minutes,” he added.
