StarCity Hotel CNY Canton era deco and new chef

The lobby of the StarCity Hotel in Alor Star is brimming with the vibrancy of the “Canton Era” Chinese New Year decorations to usher in the Year of the Ox (Niu).
Despite the pandemic setbacks, they hope to bring some form of joy for everyone celebrating the festival.
The deco consists of an old typewriter,antique sewing machine, gramophone, portraits,old iron, classic suitcases,old bird cages and many more.
Meanwhile, a new face at the hotel is executive chef Rosli Shuib who comes with many years of experience in the culinary field.
Although he specialises in the Western/Italian cuisine, he is also well trained in Asian and local dishes.
His last posting was in a hotel in Cameron Highlands. He has also worked in hotels in Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Alor Star, Penang.
“I hope to bring some of my favourite Western and Italian dishes with a fusion of local ingredients to diners and as takeaway,” said Rosli.
Due to MCO wef Jan 22, they offer their drive Thru promotion of their Fish and Chips and Chicken Chop at only RM10 from 12pm to 6pm.
The on-going and popular Nasi Kenduri consists of juicy rice/fried chicken/egg/vege at RM8 only (12pm to 3pm).
They also off their CNY reunion dinner at RM458 nett on Feb 11 (seating for 6pax) and the CNY dinner from Feb 13 to 18 at RM408nett per table.
