After spending more than 25 years cooking at some of the finest restaurants in London, experienced chef Peter Shek, brings the wonders of English culinary to Ipoh.
His new restaurant (Unnique Kitchen) located in the Greentown Business Centre offers authentic dishes like Lamb Chop, Chicken Francaise, Paiella, Black Angus Ribeye, Moroccan Lamb Stew, Australian chilled Wagyu, New Zealand Sea Perch, Chilean Sea Bass, Scandivanian Salmon and many more.
“I wanted to bring the traditional dishes from the British menu here to Ipoh so that more local people can enjoy the dishes.
“I only use the freshest of the ingredients in my cooking. Although many times there are some ingredients which are not readily available here, I try my best to source for them,” said Peter when met at Unnique Kitchen recently.
He also likes to use lots of fresh herbs and quality olive oil in his cooking.
When asked what was his trademark dish, he was quick to answer that the taste of any one dish can only be determined by the guest themselves.
“For me, our signature dish is what you like.
“What I like may not suit some else’s palette as every one has their liking for salty, sweetness, spiciness and texture. I like to cook what is suited for your taste buds,” he added.
To this regard, he says for example, the lamb chop alone can be prepared in almost 19 different styles.
