There are several “new inhabitants” at the Langkawi Wildlife Park to greet you upon your arrival.

Among the newcomers are the Belang Merah / Brahminy Kite which is the symbol of Langkawi.

Those who take the ferry ride to the Kuah jetty will surely see the majestic eagle at the Langkawi Eagle Square or Dataran Lang.  It is a 12-metre tall statue to honour the legendary eagle.

Another new addition is the Sun Conure parrots.

Also known as the sun parakeet in aviculture, these parrots are medium-sized and vibrantly colored parrots are native to northeastern South America.

The adult male and female are similar in appearance, with predominantly golden-yellow plumage and orange-flushed underparts and face.

Visitors are able to interact with these parrots on their visit to the park.

They also house the Malayan Porcupine which was a baby when it’s mother died. It was therefore hand raised by the animal keepers at the park. Also known as the Musang Pulut or Civet Cat, it eats fruits and veggies with its  favorite being grapes.

It is so very tame that visitors can hold the animal on their laps.

For the attraction of visitors, the park also brings out a different animal so that visitors will get to have a picture with them.

Among them is the green iguana which are vegetarian.

The crocodile feeding for the visitors is held every Friday / Saturday / Sunday from 11am to 4pm.
