Ipoh City hopes to use only natural material like bamboo in all of its landscaping structures.
Ipoh City mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said that the Ipoh City Council will use the material as it is sustainable and environmentally friendly.

“We want to showcase that using bamboo is inline with Ipoh to become a low-carbon city by 2030.” said Rumaizi in a press statement.
To this regard, a bamboo arch was launched at Dataran Ipoh recently. It was officiated by council secretary Zuraina Kamarul Ariff.
The concept of the arch is a blooming flower. The structure was made by the council’s staff from the Landscape and Parks department and the Controlled Development Department.
The staff had earlier undergone training at a private institution in Sungei Siput.
Due to MCO, the arch structure which started in March was only completed recently.
The bamboo used was treated and processed to withstand natural elements before construction began.
Syabas to MBI for its use of natural resources and their conservation strategies.
