Here’s the chance to experience a variety of local and tropical fruits, all housed under one roof at Penang Tropical Fruit Farm in Teluk Bahang.

The eco-tourism attraction is home to more than 250 types of tropical and sub-tropical fruit trees at the 25-acre organic tropical sanctuary in Penang.

Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy, Yeoh Soon Hin recently paid a courtesy call at the farm to see for himself the wonders of the farm.

Also present was the owner of the Tropical Fruit Farm, Quah Ewe Kheng along with the chairman of the Association of Tourism Attractions, Penang, Ch’ng Huck Theng.

“While the fruiting season comes seasonally, the variety means that visitors can see different fruits and trees blooming during different seasons.

“It is a family-friendly activity that you can easily spend half a day there. From the informative guided tours on various fruiting trees to the beautiful scenery, you can also sample different types of fruits.

“Unknown to many, they are also well-known for their coffee, which is a must-try,” said Yeoh after his visit to the Tropical Fruit Farm last Saturday.

He also added that the Teluk Bahang stretch is home to many eco-tourism attractions such as Tropical Spice Garden, Entopia, Escape and Penang Tropical Fruit Farm.

“Each attraction offers a different experience and one can easily spend a few days in the Teluk Bahang stretch alone.

“Penang is definitely a place that you cannot finish visiting in a few days, as you can easily spend a few days in an area alone.

“Besides this, the Teluk Bahang road can also lead to Balik Pulau, another hidden gem away from the hustle-and-bustle of the city for domestic visitors looking for a getaway to be closer to nature,” he said.
