The newly opened OZO Georgetown not only offers great accommodation at bargain rates, they are also mindful to play their role in safeguarding the environment.

They are among the handful of hotels in Penang to have installed the “Solar PV System” designed to harvest green energy.

This solar PV system is a building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) system which displaces building materials and generates solar power.

In this manner, the solar panels act as a building envelope material.

The solar PV system is capable of generating 51.84 megawatt per hour or MWh of electricity annually.

The energy generated can power the lights, lifts, air conditioning and other office equipment in the hotel.

But the best news is that they are able to cut down about 40 tonnes of carbon emission to the environment.

On a clear sunny day, the best time to harvest solar energy is from 12pm to 5pm.

Meanwhile, the OZO Georgetown Penang managed by Thailand based ONYX Hospitality Group.

The property is also the first OZO Hotel in Malaysia.

The 22-storey hotel offers some 141 cosy, chic and comfortable rooms, there are 67 Sleep rooms, 67 Dream rooms, three (3) Sleep Family rooms, two (2) 0ZO Suites and two (2) OZO Family Suites.

They are the only hotel on the island with a sky lobby on the 20th floor which serves as the best introduction to the city.

Other facilities include the “Tone” Fitness centre, “Talk” meeting rooms, (25 people capacity), “Connect” Information access, “Eat” full service restaurant, outdoor swimming pool on the rooftop along with the “ON22” sky bar (to be completed 2021) offering a panoramic view of the city along with great drinks and snacks menu.
