Yeoh was commenting during the Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association Travel Agents Business-to Business Session held here recently.
“Penang is a multi-faceted travel destination with various unexplored sides to Penang such as Balik Pulau and Seberang Perai.
“Due to the pandemic, we are only able to travel domestically. However, we can turn this into an opportunity to position Penang as one of the country’s top domestic destinations,” said Yeoh.
Yeoh said Penang Global Tourism has also recently launched “JOM! Experience Penang” campaign to stimulate Penang’s economy. The public may book travel packages and deals on penangtraveldeals.com.
Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA) Penang chapter chairman Andy Chuah added that the association is working closely with several destinations within the state to bring in revenue worth 2.5mil to various sectors through the “JOM! Experience Penang” campaign.
