The Grab Mart service will also be expanded to market traders in Bayan Lepas and Batu Lanchang markets for the convenience of the public there.
“The initiative is aimed at enhancing digitalisation for business transactions among traders as well as encouraging people to adapt to digital platforms.
“The state government will be allocating RM30,000 to be used for the promotional code in order to attract people to use this app,” said Chow in his address.
“Since March this year, Grab Mart services have jumped three fold due to the Covid-19 pandemic and MCO.
“Customers are able to purchase fresh produce, poultry, seafood and meat from the Grab app, pay directly using their GrabPay e-wallet, and have them delivered right to their doorstep,” said Northern & East Coast of Grab Malaysia senior regional manager Teoh Tsin Yok
The application will also be expanded to the mainland to areas like Bagan Ajam, Seberang Jaya, Bukit Mertajam, Bandar Tasek Mutiara dan Perkampungan Baru Juru markets.
