It was a belated Hari Raya together with a memorable Father’s Day celebration for some 30 ex-employees of the former Mutiara Beach Resort.
This time around the get-together was held at the Nona Bali Restaurant in Jalan Karpal Singh Drive in Georgetown, Penang.
In all, some 40 guests and friends turned up for the lunch gathering, some in traditional Malay outfits in the spirit of Hari Raya celebrations.
Organising chairperson Jeeny de Kujiper who now resides in The Netherlands had also prepared a wonderful cake and gifts for the fathers.

Lunch was traditional Balinese spread with spicy sauce, lamb kurma, chicken, satay, vegetables, rice and ice cream for dessert.
Those who gathered had worked in the various departments of the resort like F&B, Front Office, Security, Engineering, Housekeeping and other departments in the resort which had closed in 2006.

They later joined hands to perform the cake cutting ceremony while Jeeny handed out token gifts for the fathers present. This was followed by a group photography session.
“It is indeed a pleasure to catch up with everyone once in a while but this time around due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order we could not go back to Holland yet,” explained Jeeny.
