Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy YB Wong Hon Wai shares artist impressions of the new-look Penang International Airport.

“Exciting upgrades are underway at Penang International Airport.

“Fully funded by Malaysia Airports, the project will double passenger capacity from 6.5 million to 12 million annually.

“Highlights include a revamped terminal, a cutting-edge digital virtual tower, upgraded airside infrastructure, and expanded apron works.

“A new era for Penang “, he adds.

In the meantime, with more and more direct flights from various cities around the world connecting the world to Penang, surely the expansion will be a boost to the state’s tourism industry and its stakeholders.

It is noteworthy that there are already eight direct flights from China cities to Penang.
