Today, Chef Rahul brings his global expertise to his current role at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC), where he continues to push culinary boundaries. Despite his Indian heritage, he has immersed himself deeply in Malaysian cuisine, refining beloved local dishes such as nasi lemak and char koay teow with authenticity, respect, and technical finesse. Born and trained in India, Chef Rahul’s culinary foundation was shaped by the country’s rich regional diversity, disciplined kitchens, and deep respect for tradition. Early in his career, he demonstrated a natural flair for leadership and large-format operations, which propelled him into senior roles with some of the world’s most respected hospitality brands. His journey took him across India and the Middle East, refining his skills in luxury hotels and high-pressure banquet environments where scale, consistency, and creativity must coexist.

Chef Rahul has held pivotal leadership roles at prestigious properties such as The Westin Pune, The St. Regis Mumbai, and Grand Hyatt Mumbai. At each destination, he led expansive culinary brigades, conceptualised innovative menus, and delivered exceptional dining experiences for discerning global audiences. His ability to balance operational excellence with culinary artistry has remained a defining hallmark of his career.

In 2017, Chef Rahul joined Foodlink as Corporate Chef, marking a significant chapter in his professional journey. At Foodlink, he became instrumental in shaping the brand’s culinary identity, overseeing complex, high-profile events and redefining luxury catering on a global scale. His portfolio includes curating and executing menus for some of the most iconic celebrations in recent times, including Isha Ambani’s wedding and Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh’s wedding at Lake Como.
