Grab Co-founder drops by Hameediyah Restaurant for lunch

Guess who stopped over for lunch ?

E-hailing giant, Grab’s  Co-founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Tan was in Penang recently.

He made it a point to visit the oldest Nasi Kandar Restaurant in town, Hameediyah Restaurant along Campbell Street which was founded in 1907.

On hand to welcome him was the restaurant’s owner himself, Ahamad Seeni Pakir Abdul Shukor. Also present was Hameediyah Restaurant director, Muhammad Riyaaz Syed Ibrahim .

Hameediyah Restaurant was recently recognised with the George Town World Heritage Incorporated (GTWHI) Heritage Award in the Cultural Continuity Recognition, (Platinum status) segment.

The restaurant was established in 1907 and has served tens of thousands of nasi kandar lovers over the years.

Penang Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow was on hand to hand over a plaque.
