Ten Malaysian community leaders have been selected to speak on an international platform organised by the World Humanitarian Drive (WHD) to promote peace and harmony.
The WHD has organised an international zoom conference with the theme entitled “Malaysia For Peace” – Global Community Leaders Conference which will be between 8pm and 9.15pm local time today (1pm UK time).
The speakers are involved mainly in welfare, charity and community work especially during the on-going Covid-19 pandemic.
The Malaysian representatives in the conference which will be witnessed by millions of its members globally.
The event is organized by WHD Malaysian Chapter with the cooperation of WHD headquarters in the United Kingdom, led by WHD Malaysian Chapter secretary-general Professor Datuk Dr G. P. Doraisamy.
In June, WHD awarded seven Malaysians for their welfare, charity and social works, including providing food to the underprivileged and poor, counseling to the depressed, organising online seminars, talks and conferences.
The recipients were Mother Mangalam of Pure. Life Society, Jais Abdul Karim of Malaysian Corruption Watch, R. Padmanathan of Malaysian Armed Forces Veteran Association, Datuk Dr. Florence Sinniah, Mohammed Nasir Mohideen of Pelita Association, Ahmad Tarmizi Mukhtar of Humanity Malaysia and R. Naraesh Pillai was honoured with Global Humanitarian Laureate – Stars Of Covid-19.awards.
The event will be officiated by WHD founder President Sir Abdul Basit Syed and closed by Dr Doraisamy.
The talk will be hosted by Samantha Mok Hsu Wei and Hema Doraisamy with the latter being the moderator and WHD director Sara Wilson will be coordinating the event.
Other speakers include the 21-year-old entrepreneur and Kairos Agriash CEO, Ezra Tan who will share his skills on organic farming during the event. The remaining two speakers are Alagesan Ayaru, president of Charity Foundation Association of Penang and Jashen Yew, chief executive officer Eyegym Sdn.
