Oakwood announced the double brand debut of Oakwood Suites and Oakwood Studios in the United States of America.
Eight months after its strategic move to focus exclusively on hospitality management services, Oakwood soft opened Oakwood Suites & Studios Dupont Circle Washington D.C. in January 2021.
The heritage landmark brings a differentiated style of hospitality to Washington, D.C.’s most sought after neighbourhoods, which is a befitting start for Oakwood’s planned expansion in the U.S.

Oakwood Suites & Studios Dupont Circle Washington D.C. is the first property to be signed under the group’s hospitality business model in the U.S. where guests may enjoy Oakwood’s signature experiences within a safe personal sanctuary without compromising on their preferred residential lifestyle.

Set in a 20th-century neoclassical manor, Oakwood Suites & Studios Dupont Circle Washington D.C. was previously known as Ampeer Residences. This historic property was once owned by socialite Eleanor Josephine Medill “Cissy” Patterson, and the contemporary manor has played host to presidents and pioneers, from President Calvin Coolidge to aviator Charles Lindbergh.
The stunning building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the United States and was recently restored with a blend of neoclassical heritage and contemporary sophistication.
The dual-branded property houses 92 suites and studios alongside a landmark event venue, Patterson Mansion. The property can accommodate short or long stays, offering a unique dualbrand experience of Oakwood Suites and Oakwood Studios respectively, across two separate wings.
