First integrated senior living resort for the elderly in Penang

The first integrated senior resort for the elderly will become a reality following the signing ceremony for a joint venture agreement between MTT Group of Companies, through its subsidiary Botanica Hills Sdn Bhd and Eden-On-The-Park.

On hand to witness the ceremony was Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow along with state exco for  Housing, Local Government and Town & Country Planning, Jagdeep Singh Deo.
 
Also present were Dato’ Seri Kenny Ong, Group Executive Chairman of MTT Group of Companies & Chairman of Botanica Hills Sdn Bhd, Datin Seri Saisunee Ong, Executive Director of MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd, John Chin, Chairman of Eden-On-The-Park Sdn Bhd, Victor Fong, Managing Director of Eden-On-The-Park Sdn Bhd, Raymond Fong, Director of Eden-On-The-Park Sdn Bhd, Ms Elysia Ong, Director of Botanica Hills Sdn Bhd and Khoo Teck Chong, Chief Executive Officer, MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd.
 
The RM180 million project, dubbed “Eden at Botanica CT” will be built on a 32 acre site in Balik Pulau in Penang will turn the township into an oasis where multi-generational families can learn, play, work and relax.
 
In his speech, Chow said that the Eden at Botanica CT will contribute to job employment for the youth while setting a new trend in meeting the needs of the seniors in our midst – a Penang based international standard nursing facility akin to those in mature countries like Australia.
 
“These investments signal the confidence of business and industry for Penang in general and more importantly, for Balik Pulau in particular. 
 
“The state is all for the idea of an integrated senior resort as it develops the network of proactive elderly care facilities that will enhance community spirit, independence and security with affordable maintenance while providing the necessary facility and emergency support right at your doorstep. 
 
“Kudos to the Eden-On-The-Park and Botanica Hills for your joint effort in realising this private initiative! 
 
“This project is a good example of corporate organisations which have a keen eye for emerging trends and future needs and are prepared to take the plunge in contributing towards positive social change. I applaud the JV partners for your dedication and commitment in this regard. 
 
As we move another step closer in realising the *Penang2030* vision, I urge other corporate entities to take the lead in giving back to our community for Penang to maintain its worth for the good of the people – both the old and young.” said Chow in his address.
