Ex Mutiara Beach Resort staff gathering

The Penang Mutiara Beach Resort may have closed in 2006 but the still loyal ex staff of the 5-star resort do not fail to get together bi- annually to celebrate and reminisce the good times.
 
Although this is the third get-together over the years, the main person responsible in coordinating this event is Jeeny de Kujiper who now resides in The Netherlands.
 
Jenny makes it a point to come back for the gathering without fail.
 
Her determination and tireless efforts are worth commendation as the get-together requires time and money.
 
Nevertheless, the gathering this time at the Vouk Suites Penang recently saw some 150 ex-employees getting a chance to meet up and share memories.
 
Many had travelled from Pahang, Alor Star, Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and even Switzerland to be present.
 
Other highlights included a best dressed award along with attractive lucky draw prizes.
 
Guests were also entertained by the Strollers Trio who rendered evergreen oldies, Latin and retro numbers.
 
Deejay, James Naras took the guests down memory lane with his retro hits which got guests taking to the dance floor.
 
The Mutiara Beach Resort was known for its all sea facing 438 luxury rooms on a 18 acre plot.
 
 
In hits heydays, the resort offered eight different categories of room with the Mandarin and Royal Suite among the premier rooms.
 
They also have two outdoor swimming pool with dolphins figurines decorating the pools in the sprawling lawn area.
 
Other recreational facilities included the 9-hole putting green, five tennis courts, four squash courts, gym, beachfront volleyball court, sea sport activities and many more.
 
The resort also featured the Tsuru-No-Ya Japanese restaurant, the La Farfalla fine dining restaurant and Palmetto Lounge which was also popular with guests.
