Ipoh and Penang hotels offer great room rates to draw locals

With several hotels in Ipoh announcing the cessation of business due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the few remaining ones are offering great room rates to attract domestic travellers.

Among those who have since opened for business are the Cititel Express Ipoh, MU Hotel and the Impiana Hotel, the latter expected to open on July 1, 2020.

The discounted room rates offer the best chance planning a weekend trip to the city which is also known as the “city that tin built”.

Starting off is the Cititel Express Ipoh located in the heart of the city which is offering rates from RM99 per night.

The strategic location of the hotel makes it convenient to walk to the nearby historic buildings like the iconic Ipoh Railway Station, Ipoh Town Hall, Royal Ipoh Club, Jalan Laxamana attractions and several hawker centres for authentic Ipoh hawker food fare.

The MU Hotel is offering it’s rooms at RM150nett per night while for a two nights stay package is at RM288nett can book through the hotel website at www.muhotel.com.

The Impiana Hotel Hotel Ipoh which is reopening on July 1, 2020 is offering it’s deluxe Room RM150, premier Room at RM220, family room at RM250 and executive suite at RM360. Add on On-the-go Breakfast at RM10 nett per person

Among the hotels which have announced their closure in Ipoh are the Kinta Riverfront Hotel, Syuen Hotel, Travelodge Ipoh and Ritz Garden Hotel.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that the Tower Regency Hotel which had earlier announced to stop operations during the MCO has later announced to reopen towards the end of the year or sooner.

Back in Penang, the Vouk Hotel is offering promo room rates from RM88 till August 2020 (without breakfast), the Hompton Hotel is offering rates from RM250 per night, Travelodge Penang at RM88nett, Cititel Penang at RM88+ and the Light Hotel Seberang Jaya is offering it’s superior room at RM220+.

The latter is also available for meetings and conferences bookings guided by the new norm and SOPs.

Meanwhile, it has come to our knowledge that the Bayview Group’s (Penang, Langkawi, Malacca hotels only) RM91 room rate promotion is getting very encouraging response. The one-off promotion is only for a limited period for stays till next year.
